Construction of Massive Warehouse and Distribution Centre.

The centralized supply chain and distribution is the traditional network that has proved most effective for Sports Direct. The centrally located national hub is essential to the efficient distribution system that is a back bone of Sports Direct success. The company was founded by Mike Ashley in the year of 1982. This public sector has it’s headquarter in Shirebrook, Derbyshire in England. They have 670 stores in the global retail market. They have retailed a huge number of sporting brands and traders in their SportsDirect.com outlet.

Phase 2 development (above left) more than doubled the size of the facility. The main contractor Winvic is renowned for its expertise in steel frame warehouse construction.

BLP members worked on site with Winvic in Shirebrook to make this project a success. Particular attention was paid to completing all roads and drainage early in the time scale allowing efficient movement and ease of construction. Anything that could be done was done early in the construction process avoiding the clashes of trades that so often occurs when projects are nearing completion.
