In 1996, Byron re-located to Scotland with his family at the invitation of the St Andrews Golf Company, as their club fitter and golf instructor. This new venture unlocked new opportunities in the UK and Europe, including Byron’s first win at the PCA Championship at Hanbory Manor. It was during this time that Byron published his first book chronicling the relationship between golf and business. Following the successful launch of several new ventures in the UK, Byron returned to the USA in 2007 to launch the Utah franchise of GolfTEC; a business combining Byron’s love of technology and golf.

Tom brings over five decades of civil construction project management experience in engineering and design, construction management, mining operations, and infrastructure.
He is particularly skilled at maximizing the returns on investment and minimizing financial risk in civil engineering projects. His mentor and former partner is Jack Nieporte, the inventor of the FASTRACK project management methodology. The FASTRACK method has been deployed across hundreds of engineering projects in the UK and USA, enabling project owner clients to construct projects in half the time or less, without cutting corners in quality.

He began his civil engineering career in 1976 when he joined the Broderick Group founded by his father Patrick. Primarily involved in heavy earth moving, open cast coal mining and servicing National Coal Board mines across England. Becoming a Director of the business upon his father’s passing in 1977, he helped steer the business through a very challenging restructuring period during the UK NUM coal miners strike of 1984.
