A major strategic acquisition of BP Petrochemicals UK manufacturing

In 1994, BLP members were involved in the appraisal, valuation, procurement and and sale of one of the largest Petrochemical product manufacturing facilities in the UK, the BP Flexible Packaging Division.

Machines included Windmoeller and Holscher, Reifenhauser and Alpine HD film extrusion lines as well Fischer and Krecke Flexo-presses, Arvor, Gunter and Stiegler side and bottom weld bag making lines.

The scope of the project on the buy-side of the deal, included machinery valuations, inspections and appraisals, and the planning, integration, installation, commissioning and production trials, on the sell-side.

The machines, all downstream equipment, ancillaries and thousands of machine parts, of were sold to manufacturing clients across Europe. Each machine, ancillary and part had to be photographed, described, specified, catalogued and organized in precise detail prior to and during de-commissioning, loading and containerization and transportation, to ensure each client received the right machine with no parts missing. With the exception of two small items, namely one small heater band for one of the extruders, and an 800mm nip (Haul-off) roller for one of the film extrusion lines, both of which could not be located, all 21 clients received their entire orders on time, complete with every part accounted for. The two missing parts were replaced to ensure 100% client satisfaction.
